DENMARK 29/6 - 8/7

DENMARK
We made the journey to Denmark to catch up with an old friend - Lisbeth, who had been to Australia a couple of times and made a fair impact on our lives. When she first came out Trace and I were just hooking up so Lisbeth has been there from the beginning.

In true Danish tradition we bought some Carlsbergs at the supermarket and met her at her work. Hugs and kisses followed as we caught up and cracked our first Danish beer with our crazy friend!

MOMENT OF THE WEEK
Camping on our own beach with a bonfire, a meal of freshly cooked fish, a slab of beer, 4 bottles of wine and having a swim whilst watching the sun go down at midnight - Priceless!

MOMENTS

  • Having our first Carlsberg in Denmark with a crazy Dane
  • Visiting a micro brewery that makes boutique beers for fancy restaurants..... hmmm food for thought - owning your own brewery!
  • No tanlines
  • Having sunscreen on and wearing dark sunnies but still getting sunburnt eyes from the amount of drop dead gorgeous Danish girls - Aalborg being the standout.
  • Standing in the middle of 2 seas meeting at the northernmost point in Denmark
  • Cooking up an old fashioned bbq on a bonfire at Lisbeth´s house complete with steak, sausages, charcoal grilled potatoes, pickled cucumbers and salad

Watching Robbie McEwen win 2 stages of the Tour de France which inspired us to ride around the beautiful Danish countryside....... basket and all!

Having a yummy traditional Danish home cooked meal of meat balls at Lisbeth´s parents house. Tracy thought her bothers were soooooo cute!!

  • Getting splinters in my hands while rowing the girls around a pristine little lake in a town famous for vikings. To help him out the girls made sure we stopped for a drinks break of a special Danish brewed boutique beer!

TOOL OF THE WEEK - Ryaniar and Easyjet win this week as they managed to sell out all their flights to London this weekened which put a massive spanner in our itinerary and caused us to miss out on a World Cup weekend bonanza. Cheap flights my a$$!
