SAN SEBASTIAN 17/7 - 23/7

Recommended by all, as the best beach in Europe - talked up too much?Hell NO! San Sebastian has made our top 3 for best beaches in the world list closely behind 13th (call us bias!) and Cottesloe.
We had 7 nights of total bliss...sunbaking...surfing...swimming!!!! As you can see we even had a small view of the beach from our room.



MOMENT OF THE WEEK -
After a miserable surfing performance in the massive swells of Biarritz, our low-in-confidence surfer DF took 2 guys out who had never surfed before. Keiran, a Pom took to it pretty well, however Constantine the Russian may have never seen water before going by his ability or lack of it! With an expectant crowd watching, DF had to step up and walk the walk. I am happy to say I actually saw him catch at least a dozen good rides! The Auzzie surfer is back! Look out Kelly!





MOMENTS -

• Being taken out by the owners of the hostel, Olga (another Russian) and Rafael (the Spanaird) to their local drinking hole. We drank their traditional cider and eat many tapa. The cider had to be poured from above your head. To all the relos who are worried about our livers...... don't as more ended up on the table then in our glasses!
• Going to the 'old faithful' with 3 Auzzies guys that moved into our dorm room. Absolute legends! Great to spend time with other Auzzies who understood our humour! One was actually from Geelong who played footy with Sth Barwon and Anglesea - good work Holtsy!
• Watching the end of Le Tour de France each day at a little local bar overlooking the beach. Dos ceverza por favor and una patatas bravas worked a treat after a long hot day at the beach.
• Watching Jazz bands play on the beach until early hours with thousands of Spaniards and 2 euro wine!
• Meeting heaps of people from all over the world as we spent 7 nights in a 5 bed dorm with new arrivals everyday.
• Swimming at playa de Zurriola at midnight after an even cheaper bottle of red and having the Beastie Boys blaring by the DJ on the beach.

TOOL OF THE WEEK -

• Finally young TC wins her title back. Doing a good deed as usual she offered our new room mates an ice-cold beer that had been in the freezer all day. She comes bouncing back into the room with her arms full of the amber liquid and a beaming smile on her dial. It happened to be the Pom who notivçced it first...... alcohol free beer!!! TC what were you thinking! Welcome back Tool!
